Susan Bryce

Can you believe the Women’s Club of Greater Lakeway is 33 years old. It is certainly a thrill to carry on all the wonderful traditions. Thank you for the honor and your show of confidence in allowing me to serve as your president for the year 2017-2018. My main goal is to stress that the Women’s Club is a social club that will be an important part of our members’ lives. This club is where women can quickly meet new people, make new friends, and find groups to share common interests.

A special thanks to Dee Ann Burns and Jackie Lloyd for the wonderful Hats off to the Women of the Greater Lakeway Women’s Club Installation Luncheon. They coordinated a special and very meaningful Installation Luncheon to begin our new year. Another big thanks to all the Special Interest Groups who set up displays to sign up members. They are already hard at work planning their activities.

Wonderful news!! The Women’s Club float won the grand prize at the 4th of July parade. Susan Jerke, Marianna Jacobs, and their committee members worked hard to bring us this spectacular float depicting the theme Patriotism on Parade. If you see Marianna or Susan, please be sure to congratulate them on a job well done.

I hope you are surviving the heat this summer and enjoying time with family and friends. I have been scheduling a variety of interesting speakers for our monthly meetings. You should find them interesting,
educational, and entertaining. Presentations will range from a dramatic first person experience, an author with new books, to a doctor’s advice. I look forward to seeing you at our first meeting on September 18.

Summer greetings! As a Women’s Club members you have seventeen Special Interest Groups (SIGs) available to join with the exception of some of the book clubs which are full. New interest groups are occasionally evaluated and will be announced if they are going to be formed. If you have an idea for a new SIG, please contact me. Our President, Susan Bryce and I will meet with you to discuss viability. I encourage you to review the list of SIGs that will be attached to this newsletter each month and join as many as you wish. To join, just call or email the Chair person(s) as noted on the list. Belonging to these groups is how you meet and get to know people who may become your best friends here in Lakeway. That is our purpose and hope. Enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing everyone again in September. In the meantime, if you have questions or needs, please feel free to contact me at or call me at 949-351-0486.

Kay Beasley
The treasurer plays a key role in keeping all our finances in order. She sets up the budget and keeps precise records of deposits and expenditures to make sure Women’s Club stays within its means. She oversees the banking, yearly audit, and IRS filing. She also aids in the negotiating of yearly contracts with vendors. In short, the treasurer is the Women’s Club financial policewoman.

I want to encourage all you ladies to take advantage of
Randall’s Good Neighbor Program if you have not done
so already. It is easy to do and costs you absolutely nothing. You simply stop by the customer service desk and fill out the Good Neighbor Program form. Select Women’s Club of Greater Lakeway as your organization
and each time you use your Randall’s card, the club will
receive 1% of your purchase. Our organization number
is 7785. The Club receives a check from Randall’s quarterly and it typically runs several hundred dollars. This added revenue helps us to keep our budget on track and dues from increasing!

You can download and print the PDF below. Then, complete and turn into the customer service desk at Randall's. When you buy groceries and use your Randall’s card, the computer will automatically link your purchase with the club’s charity number.

I look forward to working with the new Board and providing minutes of the general meetings to all the members. Minutes from the prior month's general meeting will be available in the foyer at the next general meeting.
